FXPesa Overview
I have a love-hate relationship with FXPesa that makes it incredibly hard for me to write this review. But I'll try and start with what I like about this Kenya's first CMA-regulated forex broker.
For starters, the on-boarding process at FXPesa is as smooth as smooth can get, and rightfully so. Because they are a Kenyan-first forex broker, FXPesa understands the unique challenges that most beginner forex traders in the country face. This is unlike some offshore forex brokers who would expect you to produce KYC documents that pinpoint your exact physical location, and not a P.O. Box - something that most Kenyans don't possess.

FXPesa Trading Platforms Review
FXPesa offers a modest set of forex trading platforms, most that let you trade on the go. Their Equiti trader app and MQ Web Trader are an admirable addition to the default MT4 and MT5 trading platforms.
MetaTrader 4 (MT4)
MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is the industry standard forex trading platform that every forex broker worth their name offers. It's a robust time-tested platform that lets you trade forex, indices, commodities among other assets.
It's available both as an installable desktop software as well as a mobile app.
MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
MT5 is the predecessor to MT4. A versatile trading platform that lets you invest in more asset classes including stocks, futures, options, and cryptocurrencies.
More importantly, choosing the MetaTrader 5 option when you are opening an account at FXPesa offers you an option to copy trades from other traders as well as the option to have your account balance denominated in KES.
Equiti Trader App
Available for both Android and iOS, Equiti trader app lets you effectively analyze and manage trades on the go. You can also deposit and withdraw money from your FXPesa account on the app.
One of its greatest strengths is the "TradingView-like" charts which have advanced charting than you'd normally find on MT4 and MT5.
MT4 and MT5 Web Trader Platforms
I am more of a Linux guy, and what that means is that without extra customization of my desktop, I would be locked out of the desktop trading environments. Most of the forex trading apps out there only work on Windows and MacOS by default.
But thanks God for WebTrader platforms. And a big shoutout to FXPesa for being one of the few forex brokers that offer decent-enough WebTrader Platforms.

The 3 WebTrader Platforms available on FXPesa include:
- MT4 WebTrader
- MT5 WebTrader
- FXPesa Copy
I recently lost my phone while I was in Nairobi CBD while I had just placed a huge order on XAU/USD a few minutes before the infamous NFP. I didn't have my laptop with me and there was no one nearby that I could call to assist me with one.
Only my fast-thinking brain and FXPesa's WebTrader platform saved that trade from turning catastrophic. I sprinted into a nearyby cybercafe, opened a browser window, logged into my FXPesa account and launched the MT5 WebTrader, then watched as my trade turned green.
